Villain is the usual crazy maniac. Look at these stats: VPIP 76$ PFR 38%, Folded to steal (sb or BB) 0%, attempted to steal blinds 67%. Someone of my favorite raises he turned over were 4-6, 4-js.. Bet every flop no matter what. Raised anyone with any piece of the flop.... you know the type.

kurt,

(i'd probably raise more preflop, not that it's too different, but i'm making it 1.5 total with 2 limpers in that spot..)

more importantly though your flop raise needs to be bigger. The min bet and small raise by villain could really be anything, and your overpair is a nice favorite over "anything." There is 5.25 in the pot back to you, with 1dollar to call, so you end up raising less then half the pot. make it ~4 total (preferably more) and the turn becomes easy.

Turn -

Villain makes a small dopey bet... And you raise less then half the pot, again.

Given this I dont see folding in your future

More on the flop. 3 is like 1/2 pot. Get it in on the turn for the reason Bobbo stated

Oh yeah, against a maniac of this stature you can raise more PF to isolate.

I'm curious... Are you saying to increase my standard raise in general? (If I open, I've been using a standard 4xbb raise, increasing it based on 2 or more limpers)

Postflop... I agree that I should have bet more. (though knowing this guy, it wouldn't have made a difference.)

He left a winner at the end of a night. But boy did his stack go up and down. Who would think you could see so many flops, call so many raises, and bet on every mediocre hit... and come out ahead; over the course of 2hours or so.

No, just my standard is 4xbb + 1/limper unless i'm in the blinds. 2 limpers = 6 bbs, which is 1.5. It's my standard, by no means does it hae to be your standard. I just wanted to put those general comments in parenthesis, so they're not too important, just thought i should add it.

yeah, short term neg ev can sometimes be positive net gain.

blackjack for me = neg ev, yet i guess "if i'm running hot (!!!!!!!!!!!!)" i will win money. similar idea.
