Was worried about a possible flush draw and well as being up against Aces that might hit.

After his bet put in a legit raise. Either you get action or you don't, but don't let a flush draw come cheaply.

Yeah, was a bit stupid.
Something like 3/4 pot size would probably have been a bit more sensible.

i'd raise to about $6. if the two players want to call, fine. but at least don't give them nearly infinite odds to hit their str8 / flush.
