haven't played with the villian but a few orbits. doesn't seem completely clueless. he makes standard raises and min-raises. nothing out of proportion. semi-aggressive.

when the flop came, i thought my best line would be to bet and let him raise (as he had done a couple times in the last orbit). so i did. my read on his hand was an over-pair, so i raised. now, here is my question...was the raise too big? should i have pushed instead of popping it to $15?

in these situations, where someone plays back at me (like i want them to) i'm never sure of how to proceed. never sure of how much to pop it.

should i be more concerned (than i was at the time) about Villian holding T8 (considering he was on the button)?

oh, and set over set. whatever.

This looks fine to me. I probably would have given a bit of pause to the all-in bet by the villain if you stack size was much bigger, but for your investment already, that was clearly the play. So I guess that answers the question. You may have wanted to push there with only $8 remaining after your raise.

I don't think that you can put a villain on T8 so specifically at that point, although that would really be the hand that he would need to protect with an all-in with the flush draw on the board.

Button has made such an odd min-raise. I can't see 10-8 - would he raise with 10-8 suited? 'Cause 10-8h is a huge favorite after that flop. I then thought of AJ - that small raise might make sense, and how horrible an outcome for you if it was. Perhaps overpair, or JJ, which is bad too.

I generally hate limping in with middle pair, getting the set, and also seeing a huge straight sitting on the board. Considering he raised it pre-flop, I'd push it too...

i would open-raise pre-flop, and my 3rd bet on the flop would have been a push, but there's virtually zero difference between a push there and your bet. the push maybe looks a little more like a flush draw + straight draw hand.

no way you should not be willing to go to the felt on the flop. there are ~10000 scare cards that might lose you the hnad or kill your action - let the chips fly. if he has T8, hope to suck out; you're not too far behind (i think ~35% to win).
