Being a fixed-limit player, I have problems with how much to bet and when to stop betting... Did I do alright in this hand?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

saw flop|saw showdown

UTG+1 ($183.55)
UTG+2 ($167.85)
Hero ($46.3)
MP2 ($144.6)
MP3 ($49)
CO ($127)
Button ($115)
SB ($53.75)
BB ($97.75)
UTG ($75.45)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A/images/graemlins/club.gif, K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
3 folds, Hero raises to $3, 3 folds, Button calls $3, 1 fold, BB calls $2.

Flop: ($9.50) 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $7, Button calls $7, BB folds.

Turn: ($23.50) J/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
Hero bets $15, Button calls $15.

River: ($53.50) 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $20, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $73.50

Also... Did I play with a stack too small? Since buy-in is $100, should I re-buy as soon as my stack is crippled to, let's say $70?

Just give up on the turn against most opponents. There's nothing much you can beat at this point and firing another barrel is usually just rewarding them for being calling stations.

So... I shouldn't bet the turn? I thought a flop AND a turn bet was pretty standard against one opponent.

I think this depends on your opponent. There are times when firing a second time with AK unimproved will take down the pot, but too often you will find yourself in a bad spot with ace high.

Depends on the opponent. There aren't many "standared" plays in NL. Player reads are much more important in NL. You have to get a feel for the players who, if they call a flop bet, are pretty married to their hand, and the ones who like to see the turn and try to catch, but will fold if they miss.

Also have to look at the board. Is there a chance he was drawing on the flop and will now fold when the turn blanks? Many players will call a flop bet with a draw, even if they dont have good pot odds, but will fold the turn if they miss.

Also position is very important here. A bet is more likely to take it down if the guy checks to you, vs. you just betting into him.

Like I said, no standard play, many things you have to factor in. But that's why NL is fun! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

depending on the opponent you might even check the flop. if they're a calling station, there's no point in betting.

barring a read though, i'd fire on the flop and again on the turn.

I usually wait until I have 4/5 the stack before I re-fill. Check/fold the turn.

This may sound simplistic, but a player who calls the flop has just given you some evidence that he's likely to call a turn bet as well. I like your flop bet and would do the same, but personally against a standard Party opponent I'd give it up on the turn. They are passive enough that the hand may get checked through anyway. Plus he may have just hit the straight he was drawing to.

Raise more preflop.

If you bet at the flop and you get called, check the turn (even if you improve on the turn, most of the time).

The flop bet is fine since the flop is ragged and you likely have the best hand.

After you get called, you should be done with the hand unless you improve and even then be wary.

Also, I recommend rebuying immediately after you lose part of your stack. You want to be able to win as much as you can when you flop a monster. I also use the rebuy trick frequently so later on I'll have the whole table covered and can bust anyone.

"I also use the rebuy trick frequently so later on I'll have the whole table covered and can bust anyone."

What does this mean?

if you want to have the table covered...the best way is to win some pots not rebuying /images/graemlins/grin.gif
