Villian seems to know his way around a poker table. Rest of table has a maniac and 2 rocks.

Flop play was pretty bad. Pushing pre flop is probably the best option. However, with the play so bad at the rest of the table should I have folded pre-flop? I ended up winning the tournament (HU against the villian, winning 1 all-in coin flip while short stacked) so maybe I should have passed on this hand and concentrated on stealing from the rocks to the right of me and winning hands from the maniac on the left, villain tended to not interfere when it wasn't his blind being stolen. Any opinions on this line of play? Is 88 too strong to fold at this stage even given the read on the opponents?

Push. Your 88 does NOT want to see a flop.
