I mean St. Patrick's Day. Its officially March 17th in my time zone. I'm not Irish, but I love this holiday purely for the fact that I love Guinness. So here's to the Irish.

Top o' the mornin' to ye.

And, with any luck, I will be blitzed out of my mind by the end of this 24-hour period. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm not Irish either, but when has that stopped anyone from celebrating St. Patrick's Day!

As a 100% Irishman, I just have to say Slainté.

Have fun drinking, but I have a Russian oral midterm at 4 tomorrow. However, if I'm done by 4:30, I won't be able to speak by 4:45.

FWIW, Guinness is now owned by a South African beverage conglomerate. The brew you're drinking is almost assuredly not from sent from the UK. Just thought I'd add some tidbits.

Enjoy your Guinness.

Try yourself an Alesmith Speedway Stout if you ever get to Southern California. On the east coast, try Victory Brewing's powerhouse Stout.

Happy St P's day lads. I'll hoist some Jameson in your honor this eve. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Uh... why would you want it to come from the UK?

Laugh out loud at this, coming from someone in the UK. I've found that 90% of the Guiness in America doesn't taste right and isn't worth it. Most of the Americans who drink it are kind of wannabes and don't really enjoy it.

If this is true, then there are a whole lot of false Irishmen in Ireland.

This is a true statement! Guiness tastes nothing like its supose to here.

If you ever make it over to Ireland, What ever you do, do not pick up you Guiness as soon as the barkeep puts it down in front of you. It is to sit there for 5 to 10 mins before drinking.

If someone is to see you do this they might kill you.

Oh ya! Beer is served at room tempature also.

A true Irishman drinks anything he can get his hands on. But if available, Guiness followed by whiskey is preferable.

I've already gone through all my Guinness, but I have one pint of Murphy's left in the fridge. Is that okay?

If by "Murphy's", you mean Schlitz malt liquor, then yes, it is ok.

Here is a timely article (for this thread) about how Guinness sure seems different here in the USA in 2005 than in the past (and in Europe).
