Raise to 1200 or so in the flop.

I didnt want to completely shut him down. I put him on a hand like A9 or K9 at that point.

I think your play was fine, just a bad turn card.

I'd raise a bit more on the flop. Not that it would have changed this outcome, but you want him to pay as much as possible to draw.

Looks fine otherwise. I think you're right not to lay it down. Villain could just as easily have an overpair as a 9.

EDIT: ok, an overpair is less likely because it wasn't raised PF, but I still think you're right to stay in it given the pot odds and your stack size.

When he bets the turn you know you're playing for most of your stack, so the question is your read.

Given you have none, I fold.

If that is your read, how can you call the turn. I really think it is a bad idea to get what you belive is a read on the type of hand the player has , than go against that read on the turn , because it crushed you.

This seems like a frustration call, I cant see him betting out a hand that you beat. What Hand do you think he puts you on that he wants you to call, because he is value betting , and not wanting you to fold.

I'm glad you pointed this out. My read on the flop was him having A9 or K9 type of hands. But that read totally changed after he leads out his bet on the turn. I think most players would prefer to check-raise here if they did indeed have a 9. So now all of a sudden my read changed to him having over pair or even a 6. So, now I decided to just call his bet on turn and river. By the way he ended up having 10-10. comments?

If I turn the top boat, the last thing I'm going to do is check/raise as it would make you fold, and I don't want you to fold.

Good point wood. But, I think many players would at least check-call at this point, especially considering I raised him on the flop. So, his lead bet looked "weak" to me.

If you had a hand like A9 and turned the top boat, would you lead bet into me?
