Is there anyway to get rid of that ridiculous banner which is incorporated into the Opera browser? I tried using it but just couldn't get past the banner.

Thanks,

Billy

I find the banner to be rather unobtrusive, myself.

But to answer your question, you can get rid of the banner by paying $39 (http://www.opera.com/buy/).

I used to be a loyal opera user, until I found out that you could get mouse gestures for Firefox plus you can use gmail with it.

Just switch to firefox.

I probably have to do that too. Always have to open IE to get to my gmail.

No need to switch, I'm already using it. I've read good things about Opera's speed so I thought I'd try it out.

I use Opera for it's excellent cookie management. Does Firefox offer the same level of cookie management?

I feel that they do based on my own experiences.

I've used Opera for years, back before its features were copied by Firefox and other browsers, and to this day I still don't know if I've ever noticed one of the ads. Normally that spot is unused by most browsers anyway. If you pay attention to your firewall, it should be able to block the ads.

Opera has always kicked ass. Anyone still using IE needs to try it. Opera's "reload all pages where they were before a crash" was revolutionary, as was the taskbar layout, as was mouse gestures.
