Cool Bird Video (http://media.animal.discovery.com/fansites/petstar/videogallery/season3/ep309_winner.html)

The video used to be a many many times better, they cut the length of it to a fraction of what it used to be. These birds are completely capable of memorizing the lyrics to entire songs/nursery rhymes.

I have 2 African Greys. What would be some cool things for me to teach them to say. Right now the best trick they like to do is ask for kisses and then they stick their head out, then when you kiss their beak, they may a lip smacking noise and start whistling/laughing and ask you "What are you doing?". I have no idea how they learned that one, but I want to teach them some tricks. Any ideas?

your bird could be the 2plus2 mascot if you teach it how to say "ill let others elaborate," "its not even close" and "do you see why?"

that would be hilarious btw.

I think I might do that. He could pick those phrases up in no time. The question is, what should I use to cue the bird to say those phrases?

You definitely need to have something on the order of "nice rack" as well as some crazy song. I'm working on the song.

i had a cockatiel that learned insane amounts of songs from my bbs dialer. for those that don't understand pre-internet it was common to dial into somebody's home computer to post messages like this, only there was usually 1 phone line for a local one. so it was busy a lot. what you'd do is queue up a bunch of places to visit, walk away, and wait for music to play to indicate that you got connected to one of them.

anyhow the software i used (telemate for dos) had various songs like leave it to beaver, andy griffith, etc and he learned them all. then he would recognize them on nick at nite. he also would ring like the phone, make police sirens, etc. anything he heard.

basically i imagine there are cds for cool [censored] to loop to teach your birds.

when you ask the bird a question he should say "ill let others elaborate" or "its not even close."

when the bird finishes saying something, he should end it with "do you see why?"

I'm too spent to think of a particularly funny way to say it, but some way to say "take off all your clothes, that's it baby, uhh huh, keep going" etc. This saves you the trouble of voicing those thoughts yourself, looks "cute," and provides a brilliant segue for female visitors.

if anything you should teach one bird to yell "check raise!" when ever someone says "bet". The other one should say "lets play some [censored] cards"

Andy Griffith is a great idea.

He already rings like the phone, when you pick it up he says hello and starts laughing at you.

He loves to do sirens and alarm clocks. It's amazing because it seems like he can reproduce any electronic sound with extreme accuracy.

from what i understand african grey MALES are way better talkers. the females have a reputation for not talking at all, or as much.

for the females to talk you have to get them really smashed or buy them nice things.

I read that in National Geographic. Yup.
