Normal 10/20 Party 5 handed.. BB here is a thinking player, but he doesn't think very well if you know what i mean. I am UTG with QJ and raise. Only the BB calls.

Flop is TT5. I am check raised. I call.

Turn is an A. He bets, I call.

River is an A. He bets, I raise.

Im not sure I really even like the UTG raise. I've been folding it at 5/10 6max. I'm new to 6max tho, so I could be wrong.

Do you really think he has a 5 or a low pocket here enough to make that raise good?

Oh, woops. It's a bluff. Is he going to fold this enough?

why not semibluff raise the turn? you probably have 10 outs and lots of fold equity with that card and the way the hand has played out so far.

QJo UTG raise depends on your image. I had a strong image - hence it being folded around to the BB so I thought it was the right play. QJs, I am raising every time under the gun. Also, keep it mind this was 5 handed, not 6, so that changes things a bit.

I considered this greatly and think it probably is the right play. At the time, I thought I had no folding equity witht that play against this player.

I think you had the best hand if he folded unless he held exactly K5...

I like the play if a second A did not hit. He knows you know he doesn't have a ten. He knows you would raise on the ace to get him to fold. He wouldn't fold. BUT most people don't figure the delayed bluff. =)
As it is now it looks as if though it's more for value...

This turns me off this sort of play instantaneously.

Also, as Trix pointed out, the river raise achieves nothing. Call is better.

I think call is better as well - swallow the fishiness of it.

Not many people fold a showdownable hand on the river for 1 bet.

Is he folding a ten? not likely

An Ace? nope

Would he pay off a raise with anything less than a Q, I doubt it.

I really dont see the point in this raise. Better hands arent folding and worse ones arent calling.

You might get a king to fold . . . question is whether there's a, what, ~15% chance that he's doing this with K-high, right? 7 bets in the pot, you're calling down, if you can get him to fold a king you'll take the pot where you'd lose it otherwise.

So I dunno. What's the chance he's doing this with K-high? I think a counterfeited pocket pair or a lucky ace is more likely, but hey, I can see you putting the chance he's got a king at around 15%. In which case, very good raise, and one I probably wouldn't have thought to make.

He folded, I win. A turn raise is much better I think.

This wasn't a bluff.

Don't be foolish, of course it was. You think he was value-raising Q-high, and expecting something worse than his hand to call?

Grisgra:

Consider also that his opponent may fold a Q and he will win the whole pot sometimes instead of half the pot.
