Just watched it. I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at a computer animated movie. A lot of random humor. Basically if you like the Simpsons and you don't really care for the mushy stuff like Shrek/Nemo you will more than likely love this movie. The characters in this movie are constantly argueing which I think is awesome as it makes their interaction so much more realistic. (If there is such a thing in a super hero movie)

Sorry to hi-jack this, but in every single kid's movie that is coming out nowadays, there is an annoying female character. In this movie it's the daughter. She is always complaining and shy about that boy she likes. Anyone else notice this thread or want to try and find a movie that doesn't have one? I've thought about it and only the first Toy Story didn't really have one.

Funny you say that, I read somewhere that the daughter in the movie made young girls uncomfortable when watching the movie.
Ill try to find a link, I may have just seen it on E! or something, but I remember finding that funny.

Loved the soundtrack. Jazzy, very 60s lounge. Channeling Henry Mancini.

Funny movie. Good visuals.

Could not believe that the director played Edna.

I had begun to feel like Pixar was falling into a mold with their movies and was really pleased to see them break said mold with The Incredibles. Fabulous.

I agree, it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Like, I was happy leaving the theatre, because of how impressed I was that it was good. And I'm 28 years old.

El Diablo had a good review of it.

I've done that several times. It's called buying the extended version. I even bought a second copy once or twice just so I could watch it in widescreen.

This was excellent. I didn't think it was LOL funny, but it was just feel good without being sentimental and mushy.

Saw this one in the theaters and just picked up the DVD yesterday. Personally, I liked the movie and thought it had some great parts. IMO, Craig T. Nelson did a great job as Mr. Incredible and finding out about the director as the fashion consultant was awesome. Looking forward to seeing it again.

I remember watching this in the theater and halfway through I thought to myself, "I'm buying this on DVD when it gets out."

Excellent movie. Fairly tame for the kids, yet has enough grown-up themes for the adults. Good jokes that I'll probably have to watch over and over again.

And, of course, Disney's subtle hints of racism. "Hey, FRO-ZONE!"

Great movie, though.

It was so great on so many levels. Adult themes, realistic well-rounded characters, social commentary, actual deaths. Simply a brilliant piece of film making.

Incredibles was awesome.

I agree that Finding Nemo was great too. Ellen DeGeneres is one of my favorite actresses, and she did a great Dory voice.

I love her show and watch it whenever I get a chance

Clarkmeister

Nemo was very good, but no way was it on the same level. Nemo is a strong 3 star, weak 3.5 star movie. Incredibles is a solid 4 star flick.

They can't really be compared.

Incredibles is not your typical Disneyesque feature.

I liked them both a lot.

i didnt say it wasnt good...i just liked some of the others better....it was different and fresh...but i didnt go buy it...and i own just about every other movie like this and cartoon movie there is except toy story (just never got around to buyin it). But im also a girl...which prolly plays a huge part

Dead
03-27-2005, 04:43 PM
yeah i can relate to that

my brother and i probably own about 40 disney cartoon features between us.

aladdin would probably be one of my favs, but also beauty and the beast. damn i haven't seen the latter in a long time. maybe i'll watch it tonight.

i liked nemo better just because it was cuter.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sure they can. Why can't they? I'm comparing them as films, not as cartoons. As a film, Incredibles was just flat-out a better film. Maybe a top 30 movie I've ever seen. Nemo isn't in the top 100. Comedies are difficult to compare with dramas, but anyone's top 10 list has a few of both. Comparing movies with different goals is sometimes not easy, but it certainly can be done. In this case though, I don't think it's a particularly difficult comparison.

I saw the Incredibles in theatres late last year, and it was certainly enjoyable, but I just liked Nimo better. It's just my opinion.

I've seen so many movies so it would be incredibly difficult for me to put together a top 100 list. I like maybe 90% of the movies that I see.

And Nemo was just a cuter movie. I like cute movies.

Well I am a kid.

Nuff said.

not that it has much to do with it. I liked the Godfather, and that was certainly not a kids movie.

Somewhat. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

But it is difficult, at least for me, to compare a good cartoon movie against a good non-cartoon movie.

Comparing good movies to bad movies is easy.

It was a great movie, but it doesn't have "rewatchability".
