Before I get too far into my post, I just want to say I did many searches and read quite a few threads, but still couldn't find what I am looking for. If after reading my question you know of a thread or a possible search term I should use, and just want to give me a slight nudge in the right direction, that would be good enough for me. So onto my question...

What is an approximate expected in the money finish % for a good player at a PP SNG table, say at limits 22 or under? My guess is 50%, but I have no real evidence to go by on this. I just figured that by sitting down you have about a 1 in 3 chance (must finish in top 3 out of 10), and a good player it would probably be more like 1 in 2. Is there even any real way to calculate this?

Thanks.

I don't think 50 is possible long term. Some may argue that but I don't think so.

I think anything above 40 is good. 41-45 very good and 45+ excellent or by fluke.

if you hit 40 you are doing great. very great. 45 is probably not sustainable at ANY level. well, maybe the 5+1s. maybe. holla

Another factor that you are forgetting is sample size. I just started to keep track of my SNGs better and I am around 40% ITM. However I have less than 100 so that number is pretty much meaningless to me. Now when I get close to 1000 and my ITM is still around 40% I will be happy.

I don't believe that you looked/searched. This question has been asked more than once in the last 24 hours. Amongst many many many other posts where you could find the answer to this questions would be the old SNG FAQ.

I can never find the S+G FAQ. It's practically impossible.

The best way to search 2+2, especially the archives is to google with "twoplustwo" as your first word then what you are looking for after that.

Now on to the question. I've ready on here several times that 38% and above is a good goal for the lower level buy-ins. A poster who has been called one of the best $33 players had a goal of 44% which he has since decided is unattainable at that level.

I think a player playing much below his skill level at the $11s could probably hit 50%.
