monkey is 65/21, random spots of aggression postflop, calls down with crap, sometimes throws in bets for no reason.

I check behind on the turn and call a river bet. Bet the river if checked to.

I check behind all the time and I wouldn't check here.

Does that mean you're calling down a checkraise?

Given his description, isn't folding out of the question?

i like a check here

(1) all the hands that you're afraid of giving a free card already got there
(2) you'd love to see showdown for 1 bet, as folding to a c/r wouldn't feel right either
(3) a lot of idiots would still bluff at the river with KQ or other crap if you check behind

I'm pretty sure I would bet this and then call down his check-raise.

But after reading the other posts, a check seems very good here.

Alright, there's a scale here where if your opponent is enough of an animal you bet, if he's predictable enough, you bet, but if he's somewhere in the middle you check because you have trouble figuring out whether to call the checkraise.

Honestly, even with the description, I don't expect the guy to checkraise bluff. And if he's really a loon who will checkraise without the ace, betting isn't that bad, and even though it will show a loss on the times he will checkraise, there will be enough time he calls down with something worse to make betting here profitable.

I check, I really dont want to pay 3BB to see his Ace or 3.

Only a King on the river may hurt you and I would be happy to see a cheap showdown on that board.
