People don't have attention spans anymore Andy.

Duke posted this in another thread. That reminded me of a book I read long ago.

Ken Follett. The Pillars of the Earth.

I don't remember exactly, but I bet it's over 1000 pages. It is an epic historical tale interweaving many characters and plots. Great writing. I'm going to re-read it. I recommend giving it a try.

It's a pretty good book, most of folletts period pieces are. His newer books, especially hammer of eden, didn't really pass mustard though.

I remember from a past OOT thread(Most disturbing film ever) that you are a documentary film connoisseur. Can you recommend some interesting documentaries?

Thank you.

Maybe I'll add that to my list if I ever get around to finishing Brothers Karamazov.

You could read the brothers k instead, it's about as long, very well written, but not so wordy /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Great book. When you're finished with Brothers Karamazov and The Pillars of the Earth, give Anna Karenina a read. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Um...Jeff, Titicut Follies and Night and Fog are both good documentaries.

Ever read Goëdel Escher and Bach, an Eternal Golden Braid?

That book takes some SERIOUS patience but it's my favorite book ever.
