I rented Exorcist: The Beginning, rather tentatively, but nonetheless interested in the story. As the movie opens, the script sets up the premise by having fallen priest Lancaster Merrin meet with some British sleazy guy. The British guy says "We want you to investigate a Christian church in Nairobi . . .circa 5 AD"

Now, immediatley I think "that's impossible - Christianity couldn't have started until 33 AD at the earliest." And what does Father Merrin say "No - that's impossible." AHA - i thinik, they are pointing it out and maybe this will make an interesting story. And what explanation does Merrin give? "The Byzantine Empire had accepted Christianity by then but not that far south." D'oh. morons. Anyway, so later in the movie they find the church and Merrin says "That's 1,500 years old. . . something something something." So, that puts the church at circa 5 . . . HUNDRED AD. not 5. Keep up the good work fellas.
