Villain had been semi-aggressive through the whole tourney

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t300 (5 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

UTG (t1310)
MP (t2335)
Button (t1075)
SB (t1500)
Hero (t1780)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to t600</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero push, MP calls t1180.

Is it a bad idea risking the tourney with this hand, since he represents at least som kind of hand?

at this point it is all about stack sizes. you are 2nd in chips and contemplating going over top of someone who is the chip leader. this situation demands that you play extremely tight. that being said i would push if the pot had not been opened.

This is not the time to tangle with this person, and you don't have a good enough hand. You have a healthy amount of chips, and you will have lots of stealing equity against the other stacks at the table. If you are called (which you almost certaintly will be) by two overs most of the time and an OPP the other times that is a disastor, this is not the time to be flipping a coin. Fold then steal some blinds the next few rounds, you have the second most chips.

Oh, btw. If you do have some inate desire to play this hand a stop n go serves your purpose much better here. Call then push any flop that doesnt have a 7.

Fold or call and move-in on any flop. Over the top is a bad idea...he's pretty damned pot committed right there unless it was a total bluff.
