That's quite an unusual spring-break trip.

My GF is from Peru so I know a little bit about it from what she has told me.
Country is not in good shape....but there is still a very good chance that you actually won't get robbed or kidnapped.

So FWIW, I have been to around 70 different countries in my 25 years and Peru was one of the best.
The people were wonderful, the mountains amazing, and for those that cherish outdoor adventure, Peru offered plenty.
