I confess. I am playing Turbo Rebuys to get into the WSOP shootouts. Not the most elegant poker I have ever seen.
I know some of the rest of you are too; cleanse your conscience here /images/graemlins/blush.gif

I just did and won /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Blew $320 on two yesterday and did not get past the 1st table.
Today playing a shootout for $25. Nothing wrong w/ a cheap seat.

By the way, playing the second turbo now, while I am in the shoot out.

I love the $5 rebuy /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Will play it if I have the time.
In the one I am in I didn't fold PF for about 1/2 hr.
Bluffed 45o all in on a 4AAA board into the 4th A /images/graemlins/cool.gif
I love getting my jim-jams out in these things.

Yeah, me too. Nothing shameful about playing in fun, soft games.

Saw that...you bluffed it into a RL friend of mine I met at the WSOP last year. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Did one too, but since I suck it's probably the best idea. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Definitely not great poker to be seen. Push push push and pray for a while by most. Calling everything off. I just did the original buy-in and add-on.
Someone got knocked out at my table and I was put in the BB just as we go hand-for-hand and with the 30k BB + 1k ante I'm just barely forced all in. Someone with AA pushes (obviously everyone is in fold mode at that point) and beats my 97o. Fortunately I end up at 52nd and win the seat.
Never tried the double S&G format so it should be interesting when I try it out tomorrow or next day...

I think those PStars turbo re-buys are the best thing under the sun this year.
Not only are they RIDICULOUSLY soft, but a bunch of clueless LAGs win and make the double-shootouts a genuine party.
I finished third (sniff) in my double-shootout Sunday against two very poor players. A mix of bad luck and admittedly my not exactly elegant dealing with the pressure - I'm just not used to settle a battle for $11,000 in 15 minutes. In my first sat we were down to 5 players on level 3!
Unless the competion picks up (and with the turbo rebuys I don't see why that would happen) I believe I have very good shots at making it to the final table of the double-shootout again.
Best,

So how do these things work? As near as I can tell, you can play the $2 rebuys and then for every $150 or so in the prize pool, one player gets a seat in a double shoot-out?
And now I find out it's in July, when I can actually go? (July in Vegas? Great...) Will they have a special wing in the hotel for dead money? Man, this is going to burn a hole in my BR.
See you at the rebuys,
Sam

I believe the best deal is the $5 rebuys. People rebuy with great enthusiam, and they seem to pay 15% - 20% of the field (after the end of the re-buy period).
Good Luck!
Best,
McMelchior (Johan)
