I don't really have a credit card but I've been spending a ton of cash fixing up a house. I wanted to know if 1% cash back is about the best you can find?

Get an American Express card and enroll in the Rewards Program.

Membership Rewards rules. Their point system is around a penny on the dollar. However, if you are gonna be spending a bulk of that cash on at Home Depot or something fixing that house, its double the points.

paypal has 1.5% cashback and the money sits in a nice money market account (presently 2.41%)
