Who knows, I don't think WSEX or Tradesports report open interest, but I could be mistaken.

Regardless, I can't justify throwing money into these markets when producers and AT&T/Cingular employees are privy to inside information.

anyhoo, i would imagine that the online markets are handling less than most would imagine. under $1,ooo,ooo would be my guess.

Id say Tradesports is the place to bet...... You are trading against the not so bright masses, and spreads are tighter.
That being said I would guess there is more wagering done at WSEX

i don't think there IS much big betting.

there are a dozen people that know the results of eliminations about 18 hours early. if this info were passed on, a "friend" of the producer (or whomever) could never get that much action because a big slab of cash coming in would move the prices so much that it would not be worth the risk. they would never get a fill.

let's take another scenario. if a HUGE favorite were voted out and the producers told a friend to short the hell out of this contestant, the producer would be not only jeopardizing millions in possible dmages from breach of contract with Fox, but they probably could trace such a leak back through the account being created at the bookmaker.

it just is not worth it for any serious dollars.
