I am now getting confused. There are actual OOTers who when the read OOT, think oot as in toot? Are you serious? You dont read it as Oh Oh Tee ? This is blowing my mind, if in fact more than one persons mind thinks this way.

I think "O----O-----T," but I think "Oiters" for the people who post there. Just makes sense.

I like to think by pronouncing it OOT I am optimizing my time and spending less time on trivial things like pronouncing each letter in OOT.

Oot. Fast, simple, monosyllabic. Superior.

No, the people who post here are "Oiters," pronounced "losers." That doesn't alter the fact that the forum is "O-O-T."

So you say "oat," then?

Seriously, now, when was the last time you were actually physically pronouncing OOT? Therefore the amount of syllables doesn't matter because pronouncing it in your mind is more or less instantaneous.

Incorrect, at least for me anyway. Before reading this thread, just pronouncing OOT the long way in my head took more mental effort and time, but I have changed now to the one syllable

I agree. I don't use this word often, but I think saying "oot" is gay. As in using yourself as your avatar gay.

This is very strange. Mentally, when I see it, I mentally call it oot, one syllable, but when I'm talking to a friend about it, I say "did you see the post in oh oh tee today about . . . ."
