Although hit-or-miss with most people, I think this is one of the greatest bands ever. Fantastic songwriters. They also put on one hell of a show. I saw them a few years ago and they busted out this radio, and they went through all the stations and played whatever was on the radio perfectly, it was awesome. They are also funny as hell. They write a song a day and put it on "dial-a-song," their answering machine in brooklyn. They also have a streaming online clock radio with three channels of their music and they each have solo & side projects. These guys rule. Here is their website: tmbg.org (http://www.tmbg.org/).

Any fans??

I appreciate them artistically, but do not like their music.

Yeah I like them a lot. The only album I have by them is Flood, but I like almost every track.

A lot of people don't even go this far, dismissing them as "silly." I can totally understand not liking them, they are mostly poppy.

Definitely one of my favorite bands of all time. I've seen them live 5 times in the past 5 years, and their live performances are the best live performances I've ever been to, bar none. Defintely gotta be a geek to appreciate them though.

Their official website is tmbg.com (http://www.tmbg.com). tmbg.org (http://www.tmbg.org) is the unofficial site - still full of good stuff though. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I liked them much more when I was younger. But I still love listening to John Henry.

I liked "Flood." Haven't really paid attention to them since. Every so often I'll hum something like "maniac man, maniac man..." to the tune of particle man when playing online.

Saw them in '94 in Indianapolis along with a now-defunct Boston band called Chucklehead. If you can find any of C-Head's stuff, check it out. It's funk with a sense of humor.
