On the river you have to at least call, but by calling you only have $250 left. I would think your AA are good here and I would try to get the rest of my money in. What hands could he have that beat you? 66 or 99. I would think you would have known about it if he had one of those hands. OTOH, he could have something like AK-AJ or a big PP. You split with AK but you win AQ-AJ. The pot is so big at this point I think he'd call with a lot of hands you beat. I think if your going to reraise with AK pre flop you should get the rest of your money in here when you hit your A.

What Rob said.

Preflop you pretty much establish he doesn't have AA or KK.

On the flop you pretty much establish he doesn't have trips and 2 pair on this board is out.

On the turn I would think you are behind a pocket pair since he probably doesn't have a heart draw. He could have called the flop with just overcards, but not too likely.

On the river, what beats you? Another Ace or PP over 9 probably calls.

Of course the fact that this hand is posted increases the likelyhood that you lost, so maybe he was slowplaying AA all along. I suppose once he got you HU preflop he might slowplay Aces and then just take a chance that you didn't have a heart draw.
