View Full Version : What's your Stars WSOP Sat of choice?

Seems like there's something for everyone. I wasn't around for last year's sats so I can't compare, but here are my thoughts:

$150 Double Shootouts - should be pretty fishy especially with the 5.5+R sats they are running. I'm in one right now
that pays 83 spots.. more than one entire double shootout!

33+R 1 seat guarenteed - need a lot of luck? The one running right now pays 4 seats from 703 players. Although a nice way to take a cheap shot at it.

FPP Sats - I think liked the 10k FPP Bahamas WPT sats better, which paid 4 seats, compared to the 4k FPP which pays 2. Nevermind the 1k ones or the 10k Bellagio WPT sats... difficult to place first out of a large field.

$615 - probably the best way for a seasoned MTT player?

If you don't mind spending the time, the sats the run for the 615 are incredibly soft (or at least they were for the bahamas). So you should be able to get into the 615 cheap. Thats what I would (will) do.

Yup, I've already gotten a chunk of $W from the WPT and EPT sats burning a hole in my account. Although I'm not sure I can take 9 days off work for the WSOP.. ugh, didn't think it would be so long?

there is a very small chance that you actually play for 9 days, and if you do, you will probably not care about work by then.

I like the 650 sats, however will try the 8:00 shootout 2-nite to christen my quest for the WSOP.

The sats are $650 w/ the vig.
The one I won to go to the Bahamas took just over 7 hours.

Good Luck

I think the 30 minute blinds + 3000 starting chips + large influx of supersat players makes the 650s the best option.

I hope none of you guys clutter my sat of choice. Last year it was the $650 super, and it was good (great structure) but they take forever.

I think they get softer as we get closer to July, as the better players have secured their seats.

If you qualify, you can refund the money for wsop $, correct? Which you can trade with other players, is this correct?

Is that really true??

Weren't there a lot of players "winning" 2 and 3 or more seats to the WPT and WSOP events and taking the cash equivalents.

W$ can be used at any WPT/WSOP event, to buy into satellites, or be traded, correct?

The 5.50+rebuy sat into the $150+10 double shootout that I played in paid 83 seats.

yes

I believe the difference this time around is that you cannot buy into the WSOP with $10k in $W. So if you win a second seat, you'll probably have to piece it out into $650 chunks or so unless someone has a better idea.

No.

They can be used for WCOOP events, the Pokerstars WPT event, or the EPT stuff. Or you can sell them, of course. But you cannot use them to buy in to any WSOP event.
