I visited the Foxwoods resort casino in Connecticut today. I got there at 10:00 am for their Saturday Hold Em tournament. I planned on playing in a ring game after the tournament. I wanted to play in a $5-$10 Texas Hold em kill game.

I think the Foxwoods has a better run room than either the Taj or the Trop in Atlantic City. The staff treats the customers very well. The room has a steady client base.

I busted out of the tourney around 11 30 and got on several lists. I played in a few different games, however I spent most of my time playing in a good $10-$20 Texas Hold em game.

The $10-$20 Hold em game had a few loose players and few good players. People at the $10-$20 game do not mind calling raises or limping along. The game didnt get too wild. We did have some aggressive players.

Many of the players I played with were "regulars". We did have some tourists in the game. I played with a very funny regular named Howie. He was the best player at the $10-$20 game.

The players at the Foxwoods play a different style of game than I have become accustomed to. These players limp more and call more raises. A lot of players played hands out of postion. Many were overly aggressive out of position.

I earned 25 BB playing in four hours today.

I plan on visiting again soon, perhaps as soon as next week.

Nice post. Is that Halftime Howie you are speaking of?
If so, there is a funny story that occured while I was there last weekend. We were involved in a hand, I believe it was a 1020 game, whereass nearly half the table walked out of the room to go for a smoke leaving the game shorthanded. Anways, I limp in with presto, i get popped by mp, halftime howie (HH) is in the bb and he calls i call. 3 to the flop. flop is k64 i bet mp calls, HH raises i call mp calls. turn is a 7 i ck mp flips over his cards accidently and exposes k7 so he checks behind river is an A. HH bets out saying he got AK and shows the 1 king. So this guy thinks for approxiamtely 45 minutes (what it felt like and mucks.) /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif HH takes his cards and launches them across the table and says with a big fat grin "No soap radio". I fell from my chair and rolled on the floor cracking up. HH was trying to hold back his laughter but it was obvious that he was crying of joy inside, meanwhile mp racks up 4 bb and leabves. I couldn't compose myself for the rest of the day.
Anyways, if you end up seeing him at the 'woods again, after a hand say "No soap radio" and he will crack up!
