View Full Version : AQo in NL tourneys

So, I find myself folding AQo early in NL tourneys if someone brings it in for a raise of 3 to 4 times BB (or larger). Especially an early position raiser.

If it's late in the tournament, I'll play it strongly, but early on, I just dump it.

Was wondering if this is consistent with other players. How do you play it?

AQ is one of the most overrated hands by tournament players. It is a pile of dung. Never Ever call a raise with it early in the tournament. You shouldnt ever even call with that hand. Its a muck or raise hand for sure, and very rarely a reraiser). The only times to play it are later in the game when you get low on chips (if you get low on chips) and you have to just pick a hand and roll with it, or you are a big stack and pushing around those short stacks who have to play anything decent. That is all in my humble opinion of course. /forums/images/icons/ooo.gif
