I was pretty disappointed with the poker scene at the start of the CSI season premiere (Thurs Sept 26). First of all, what casino in Las Vegas spreads no-limit holdem? (Maybe it was pot-limit, but still.) Second, were there four clubs on board? It seemed to me that the guy with AA was saying that any club or any ace on the river would win it for him. Or a variety of other cards -- he suggested that the young guy had two pair. But if there were three clubs on board, how did he know that the young guy didn't have a flush?

Finally, when the CSI team showed up, the pot was still sitting in the middle of the table. Wouldn't it have been awarded already (perhaps at the same time or immediately after they administered CPR to the old guy)? In any event, it was pretty stupid to have the young guy trying to persuade the police that he was entitled to the pot. It's obviously the house's decision. And the house could have paid him even if the cops impounded those particular chips as evidence.

By the way, later in the episode they figure out that the woman at the table was cheating by marking the aces in such a way that only she could see with her special contact lens. Is that realistic?

I just happened to catch that opening segment and thought it sucked so bad that I couldn't even watch the rest of the show. It was embarrasing - even my wife was saying, "That's cheesy!!". /forums/images/icons/blush.gif
