Recommended albums, artists, or songs? I'm out of touch with newer music in this genre for the most part.

if you like j5, i would recommend some mos def and talib kweli aka blackstar. they both have some solo albums out that are decent too. i been gettin into some jazz lately so i'd also say to check out some soulive, modeski martin & wood, and jimmy smith - root down. jimmy smith is old school like 70's but it's funked out.
Hola Roberto,
none of these are new, but check out:
Ozomatli
The Roots
Guru's Jazzmatazz discs

Zion I - U Know Da Drill and Breathin Slow. Closer to an outkast/alternative type hiphop than some of the others listed, but still worth a listen.
K-OS is good too.

Wow, understatement of the year. Go get Quality and The Beautiful Struggle by Talib Kweli to go along with the Blackstar disc.
