Hand 1:
Bet the flop for number of reasons including it plays easier from there. I would fold the turn. AK no good in general, but you could be against an idiot draw and another AK. Not worth the price to find out.

Hand 2:
Bet the flop. I call the river as well.

You should call this post big pot/small pot. In either case checking and calling is not good.

In hand 1, you have a very large pot on the flop. You need to play aggresively. I suppose you were going for the check-raise, but it didn't work. I would still 3-bet anyway. You probably won't get anyone to fold but you might just slow them down unless they have monster hands.

In the second hand, just bet the flop and try to pick up the small pot.
