I work in a 150 year old historic Town Hall. We recently spent a lot of money painting the building and restoring the clock/bell tower. For some reason after completion of the project, pigeons fell in love with the clock tower and are creating quite a mess.

We tried a couple of things to scare them away but nothing worked so we're resorting to poison which will only kill a few birds and then the others(apparently these birds have some intellect) will leave for a better situation.

But the public had to be notified since a few pigeons may drop to the ground and the Selectmen don't want to alarm anyone. Since going public, we've had Fox News and Boston's Channel 7 here who both ran the story on the evening news.

Now we're getting barraged by the pc whackos from all over the World. I'm not upset at all as I'm out of the loop on this one and it's a nice diversion as Old Man Winter refuses to let go this year. Here's a link to a newspaper story on the whole fiasco.

Leave the birds alone, give the poison to the PC police.

Problem solved.

That'll be $50,000.00 I take cash or check.

Get the wire spikes (I don't know what they're called, but I've definately seen them in use) and put them up around the ledges of the building. This way the dead pigeons won't fall, but of course a janitor or someone would have to go up and collect the impaled ones.

The Secretary from across the hall in the Board of Health office just came over to chat. So far this morning she's gotten angry calls from as far away as California and England and Boston's Channel 5 wants to come out to do a story despite the fact two major stations have already run it.

I swear there's more concern over this than the Tsunami tragedy.

If it was up to me I would probably settle on a non-lethal solution but for christsakes aren't there better things spend your time protesting that a few dead pigeons?
