Yay until I saw you had Blind Justice on.

So it has to get a Nay. The idea for that show is utterly retarded.

I don't like that there's a wall behind your monitors.

I've got my desk and monitors set up so that my back is to one wall of my living room and I can be online and watch TV at the same time (or look out the windows or look into my kitchen or whaterver).

Maybe I should take a new pic. The 19" Samsungs were replaced by Dell 2001fp's, and i got a new computer and keyboard (all black). Old comp and one of the old monitors now resides where the laptop is. Crappy TV and stupid wood thing it's in needs to go.

definitely. its not actually the same thing though. i dont have the keyboard in the air. i keep the keyboard on top of my dick. the mouse rests on the armrest or the wooden board that the monitor rests on. works good.

are these the famed 2001fp's? they look nice but i don't really have my own place yet, so nowhere to put em /images/graemlins/frown.gif

how much do they cost?

robinsons

I love my 2001fp. I had a 17" LCD before, and the improvement is massive. The screen size is great, and pretty much everything about it screams quality...
I live in the UK so it was a bit more expensive than for most of you (around $900), but that was still far cheaper than other LCD's of the same size from other manufacturers.

Popinjay

like i said i would love to have a cool setup if i had my own place and my own little area. right now i don't have my own place, i don't even have a room to call my own really, so all i use is my laptop, which i'm fine with. it would be cool to have a nice workstation though.

Clearly the couchmobile is the way to go...

http://mikepaus.myserver.org/home/httpd/html/images/couchimation2.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Couchmobile: Not just a couch, a way of life!

What is a couchmobile? Quite simply a couch on wheels. It effectively turns your couch into an office chair.

Who needs a couchmobile? Anyone who is in a limited space and combines their bedroom with their living room, i.e. those in studio apartments, dorms, and those who rent out a room.

How did you come up with the couchmobile? Well, I invented the couchmobile to address a very specific problem. I wanted to get rid of my office chair in my room, as I was sick of kicking it out of the way every time I wanted to watch TV. You see, my computer monitor doubles as a very high-quality 21" TV, thanks to the ATI-all-in-wonder video card. Eventually I said "hasta la vista" to my office chair and moved my couch right up to the monitor.

This, unfortunately, caused some problems. First off, I had to bring the couch really close to the monitor so I could see it. This made it really hard to get in and out of the couch. Second of all, the couch was way too low to be of practical use. I had to crane my neck up to see the monitor which was annoying. Third, it's really hard to sit up straight in a couch and I found my self sliding out of it. There was one more problem that I had, having something to rest the mouse and keyboard on.

The couchmobile addressed the first three problems. I invented the telescoping keyboard tray to solve the fourth one. The couchmobile addressed the problem of easy access to and from the couch by allowing it to travel varying distances from the monitor: near for computing, far for getting in and out and just watching TV. It adresses the monitor height issue by raising the couch a good 4 or 5 inches, which has the additional advantage of keeping my legs at a right angle. As for sitting up straight, I added two couch cushions for back support, then angled the whole couch back about 7 degrees by lifting up the front and placing it on a 4X4.
