nicely done. As a rule, I fast play all sets (with a few excepions)

Edit: Wait, what happened PF? The action is all screwed up.

I'll go for overcalls on the flop with so many people behind you.

[/ QUOTE ]

What do you mean exactly? Just call it and ride it through to build equity?

Without any reads on the table, I'm not sure I play 88 in EP. However, since you did, and you got so much preflop action, I think it's a no brainer to bet/raise every street possible.

Unless SB is holding KK you have the best hand and you can't give free cards to the diamond draws. Hope you won...

No real reason this slowplay this flop. Get those bets in.

You got 3 cold callers and a completer on your first raise.
Easy. Keep betting, keep raising. The only time to slowplay is when you flop something huge, like nut flush or quads on the flop and need to convince everyone else that you don't have it to get anyone to pay you at all. Otherwise, just keep betting.

That is what I meant, but I retracted my post, becasue I couldn't understand the PF action. If it was raised PF, I'm just going to raise.

Very bad. 88 isn't even a low PP - it's a mid PP. Not only is 88 strong enough to play in EP (all PPs are), its almost strong enough to raise.

Turn: (11 BB) 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(6 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, <font color="#CC3333">villain raises</font>, SB calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, villain calls, SB calls.

River: (24 BB) 9/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP3 folds, <font color="#CC3333">villain raises</font>, SB calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">villain caps</font>, SB calls, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 36 BB

To be honest, I never saw the straight draw coming. I screw that up often until it is too late. I got pretty lucky to get the full house, but then again, I had at least 10 outs to (4) 8's or pairing the board.
Also, this was my last hand to play, my decision, before I had to post another blind. I got fortunate, but want to make sure I made no horrendous mistakes before the fortuitous river. ;-)
I know I may have been overly aggressive on the turn. I do this too much too often.
Thanks.

Do you have to originate a thread to score a cool haiku?

When will you slowplay
a set such as this heads-up?
Then, flush draw: small fear.

I wouldn't see any straight draw coming either. There is only one hand out there, 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif6/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, that could do this to you; not everyone plays 76s at all, and if the suit isn't diamonds it's a 6-out hand that might not be calling two bets.

I would rate K9s and 55 as quite a bit more likely villain's hand than the straight. I agree with playing the flop and the turn fast, but I am going to settle for calling the first raise on the river.

No haiku from me but fastplaying sets seems to work well for me too.
