Prima 25-50 NL. Full ring. Villain just sat a few orbits ago, seems reasonable.

Hero raises to $200 in LP w/ KK. Button calls, blinds fold. Stacks are both ~$6k.

Flop is Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif. Pot is ~$475. Hero bets $450. Button calls.

Turn is the K /images/graemlins/heart.gif.

Hero . . . ?

Make a full pot or 2/3 pot bet again. Don't let him catch a cheap straight card or flush card. You have the nuts at this point so fire another barrel. He may call you with an inferior hand. I am curious how the rest of the hand went down.

Has the nuts and should protect them. He i think you need to make a bet close to the size of the pot. This way you can feel comfortable going in on any river card, you need to price out any draw he might have. Bet enough to define his hand as 2 pair or a smnaller set so you can continue to get value on the river.

I went from hoping villain had a flush draw and not a set after he called my healthy flop bet, to hoping he had a set and not a flush draw when the K came on the turn. I wanted to make a bet that priced out draws, but that might induce a raise from a set thinking i had TPTK or AA . . . I almost made an overbet, about $1800, to make it look like I really wanted him out of there but instead fired $1100 (pot is ~$1375), and villain folded. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Does anyone see a better line here? Overbet the turn? CR? Check-call and then push a non-spaid river?

Thanks.

i don't think an overbet is neccessary in this case. i'd probably bet 1200-1500.

your line is fine. whiffing a CR there would be disaterous for a variety of reasons.

ni hand.
