When it comes to eating, I have no self-control. I eat a lot and I hate it. I'm not fat by any means (5'11, 155) but there's some vanity pounds I'd like to drop. I do exercise, but I just eat too much.

Does anyone have any tips to stop eating when you're not hungry?

First thing, is be honest with yourself. Are you really 5'11, 155?

Yeah, I weighed myself at the gym today. That's not what I'm concerned about though. It's the little bit of chub covering up my abs.

This post is serious then? You are 5'11, 155, and think you have self control problems when it comes to eating?

If thats true, then you also probably have a metabolism off the charts.

Yeah, probably. But I still eat too much junk food and that's unhealthy. Also, that chub is annoying.

Don't stop eating, just eat healthy snack foods.
Munch on fruits. I find they're awesome snack foods. Tasty yet healthy.

I disagree: I am 5'8" @150lbs and have a bit of a belly going right now. I'm usually fairly muscular for my height, too, but there hasn't been a ski season around here (which is my primary winter exercise).

I, too, eat a little too much, IMO- i'm cooking a frozen pizza right now as a dessert to my usual ten beer dinner.... I do have a fast metabolisim, but nothing, IMO, 'of the charts'. To keep from over eating, i usually just skip breakfast, which, while it isn't the haelthiest option, seems to do the trick.

who knows, i geuss?

Yeah, I have the same problem big time. For me its become a routine of knowing my hunger signals.

I like to eat, so as a trade off I just nibble on healthy things all day long(literally). If hunger is REALLY getting the best of me I'll have some coffee or a diet soda, or a few peanuts and slices of turkey or something.

Best advice - getting really hungry will help you to get a better grap of when you are actually hungry. Do some cardio, eat less, get hungry. Then just fend it off by snaking all day.

And yeah drink a [censored] load of water.

Just don't eat. I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, I had the same thing and now I just don't eat except at mealtimes, it's quite easy.

One thing you can do that really helps is cuting out all sugary drinks like soda, gatorade, juice, etc. Just drink water and coffee, and dont put sugar in the coffee.

Its amazing how many empty calories you can consume in a day just from beverages.

I did this as well, and lost 60 lbs. Ive reintroduced sugar in moderation back into my diet but I still avoid soda and other sugary drinks like the plague.

Ive kept the weight off for almost 3 years now.

BMI is very general and for some does not show a true value of there "weight".

For OP, as far as losing that little extra chub around the waist and stomach, cardio, cardio, and a little more cardio. If you want to get ripped you are going to need to keep a close eye on caloric intake. I used to know a bunch of formulas for figuring this crap out, but those days are long gone.
