The advice was fine, you chose to sit on a non-BBJ table.

Guess I shoulda posted this in the OP, but this was a friend's hand on a STT I was watching. :-)

I fold preflop, but that's just me.

I see the play as all fine here, but most seem to say play tigher at lower levels, which I don't think 99 will qualify at tight for 30 more 3 way, but this appears to be at least a $50 tourney, so what i say goes! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I guess I don't see where he played it wrong, except for once again Lorinda's good advice in the first post to his commments.

And what about the time I rivered quad 7s and the last 7 gave my opp a SF? That wouldn't have qualified for a jackpot.

This claim is invalid without hand history and number.

I actually posted the hand here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=1695927&page=&view=&s b=5&o=) a while back, or don't you recall? Of course the converter removes the number, so is my evidentiary record still woefully incomplete?

You also turned quad 7s, and he rivered a 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif for the straight flush.

Almost.

So by turning my quads instead of rivering them I just jumped the gun? Damn, I'll try to do better next time.

I'm really growing into a great player Lorinda.

I'm playing in a freeroll, and rivered quads like you suggested. I went even further and channeled all my skill into flopping a straight flush. I also flopped a straight, but that's childsplay.
