This is just a quick checkup. I'm in one of those phases where I'm doubting my play a bit again.

Party 2/4. My 4th hand at the table, no real reads yet but the few hands I've see have been rather loose and somewhat aggressive.
Folded to me in CO with 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif8/images/graemlins/club.gif
I raise and only both blinds call.

Flop is J73 all /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

SB bets, BB folds, I fold.

I feel kinda dumb posting this but I need the quick check up. Thanks.

He could easily be betting the A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. I don't know what you should do though.

What about call, raise a non-diamond turn card (folding to a 3-bet) and take the free showdown?

I'd probably call and decide where to go from there after I see the turn card.

Yea I like this too. Be careful with a turn A or K though. They could easily match a A:diamond or K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif in his hand.

Yeah looking back on this I think I like calling and re-evaluating on the turn better. Thanks guys.

how would you play this OOP?

That would definitely be a lot more difficult. I bet the flop, call the raise, lead any turn card (diamond or not), and fold to a raise. That's just off the top of my head without too much thought so there may be better options.

What kind of OOP situation are you thinking of? ie. The button cold calls and the blinds fold? Or hero's in one of the blinds? But yeah, being in position makes this easier to figure out.

you raise preflop in the CO w/ 88, button cold calls, blinds fold.

same flop, whatever. your play?

Ok, I just ran through it in my head and it turns out I'd play it the same way chief said.
