I'm planning on hosting a limit tournament soon.

I've searched, but I've failed to find anything useful.

Can somebody recommend a standard limit tournament structure?

I've never run one myself but I would probably use PokerStars' structure as I like thier structure for NL.

Start with 2000 in chips and raise the blinds every 30 minutes. Depending on how many players you have, this blind structure should work. If you like longer tourneys, you could always start with more in chips.

25-50
50-100
75-150
100-200
150-300
200-400
300-600
400-800
600-1200
800-1600
1000-2000
etc.

Oops, I should clarify. I need to know when to change the limits as well as the blinds.

I checked Pokerstars's website, and I couldn't find the details for their limit tournaments.

I don't have the URL handy but if you can't find it you can just log in and look at a structure for one of the tournaments. Not really sure how long your rounds should be, homepokertourney.com doesn't have a recommendation?

How 'bout...
Level 1 25-25
Level 2 25-25
Level 3 25-25
Level 4 25-25
.
.
.

If it's pot-limit why wouldn't you just use any of the typical NL structures (e.g. homepokertourney.com, foxwoods etc...)?

It's not pot-limit.

Are you suggesting incrementing the limits each round, or keeping them the same?

Then click on "Flop/Draw Limit", then either Shorter Event or Single Table Satellite, depending on how long you want the event to last (the only real difference between these is the recommended starting stacks: 1K+ chips for shorter event and 600 chips for Single-table).

Just joking as I didn't know there was such an animal as a Limit Tournament. Seemed like you'd play winner take all and keep the limits the same... could run it over a few days and bag chips at the end of the night... be interesting.

I'd seen the Tex-Tears link before but hadn't really checked out the limit info... doesn't seem to list level times? Also, says the one table satelites commonly last around an hour?? What's forcing action so fast?? Seems like a crap shoot.

I'm interested to know how it works out and how you structured your tourney.
