I have been reading the forum for a while and I'm trying to get my feet off the ground with SnGs. I have played some on Stars, but decided to give a go at Party, and it hasn't been going that great. I know about swings and small samples enough to not offer how many I've played or what my ROI is. But I would just like to start posting some hands to make sure I'm making the right decisions. So if you would, analyze away:

1st hand is 1st level of a $10+1, 7 hands in, so I really don't have much of a read on anyone

#1. Play the Pocket jacks
#2. Fold pre flop because you are UTG, flop bet is good, check turn.
#3. Good, unless you wait for a better hand which you dont have much time to do.

Hand 1: Either allin or fold. A lot of posters say going allin here with JJ is good at the $11 level. I'd probably fold though.

Hand 2: I'd fold preflop. I also wouldn't bet into such a large field (that most likely has a Q somewhere in it). You were lucky to win a small pot but easily could have been baited into losing a bigger pot (or same sized pot).

Hand 3: I think the $11s might be too loose to push KQ in this situation on level 4. I'm not sure how much FE you really have and if someone has an A in their hand they're most likely calling you (and will be a favorite to your KQ). What I'd do here though would be dependent on when the blinds are going to 100/200. I think calling here might not even be a bad idea to try and double up if a K or Q hits (or bluffing the pot if it's rags and there is appropriate weakness).

1. Play the jacks.
2. Take the free card on the turn. Unless you get broadway on a no flush board then look to play the river as cheap as possible.
3. Push is good.

1) I can't fault you for folding. If you're going to play, could you call and push an undercard flop?

2) fold preflop

3) good play at that blind level

I reraise all-in in the first hand cuz Jacks are really good against AJ and 77 which some people will call you with.

Second hand is a fold out of position with a marginal AJo.

Third hand is a pretty standard push, IMHO. A case could be made for folding, but I like the push.

This was my thinking. The way I see it, If the flop brings any A, K or Q, I'm check/folding. JJ is a hand I usually limp with at this level (to tight?), so I didn't feel comfortable calling the PF bet, knowing I'm probably bailing on it on the flop.

Hand 2, after the fact, I thought I should have folded. I just wanted to make sure.

eh...JJ. I like either cold call or Fold. But you are right, bail with AKQ flop or if too many people are in the pot with you.

I prefer to limp JJ, which probably means it's the weak-tight play./images/graemlins/crazy.gif FWIW I had a similar situation with JJ and a raise to me, I pushed and got called by 66.
