hi there,
$5 event 6left, three players heavy on chips i have
1450= 5th stack, blinds 50/100.
i am utg with QQ, I RAISE 350, all pass to bb who flat
calls and is a good player his stack $3900.
FLOP 10-8-4 rainbow he CHECKS, i BET all in 1000, he calls
and shows POCKET 44s and takes it down.
i did think about his smooth call preflop out of position
and his check on flop as to a trap, but was i going to
deep at this level?

thanks
the dog

Be interested to hear from others but this strikes me as a hazard. I would have rasied a bit more pf but he'll still call most likely assuming he's on a 50/50. The flops dam near what you want - with the exception of another q. You pushed and he caught the trips. It happens.

About 90% of the time you take that pot post flop.

You didn't overplay it, HE DID!

I will assume your raise means you bet 350 making it 250 to him to go. If you raised the pot 350 to 450 making it 350 to him, even better...

He will catch a set with his baby pair one time in 7 1/2. 6.5-1 odds against. His pot odds with 250 to go in a 500 pot are 2-1. (only 1.7-1 if you raised to 450.) You caught the perfect flop for QQ: rainbow junk.

You played it right on the money, and you hope he keeps playing like this all afternoon. Get this guy on your buddy list.
