After I studied how to defend blind and put it into practice I've lost huge amount of my winning. A hour's worth of profit is gone after one ridiculous blind defense.

How do you guys out there successfully steal and defend? I find it much better just muck.

It's ok to just call when you defend your blind. If I called preflop I'd probably checkraise this flop.

don't look at 5 bb's as one hour's work... your sanity will thank you later

i'm not able to summon up the entire catalogue of my thoughts, feelings, emotions, and position on blind defense/stealing and compiling it in a post for you this evening, sorry. that will have to do.

That is all right, I am on tilt after that hand.

I went to Foxwoods yesterday and witnessed quite a few arguments among male players. I felt funny, they are provoked by some trivial things. Seems like they look for an excuse to vent their frustration. Seems us females are much less likely to go nuts.

If the raise came from the button or SB, i'd lean towards 3-betting pre-flop. Since it came from the CO, I like calling better since there is a greater possibility that the villain has a hand as opposed to being on just a steal.
