I've just made the jump to 3/6, after being very comfortable at 2/4. I am in the middle of a -70BB downswing. I feel like I am being the victim of of FPS at every turn. I just played this hand. Comments?

No read on villain.

I'm guessing you lost, but I can't think of anything I'd do differently. You can't check the flop. You can't just call the turn (I think), you can't fold the river. Bad luck, move on.

after a little thinking im tempted to say it looks good.

you could fold to his 3 bet on the turn. but i think you played it completely correct. He could have A-Q K-Q here and your also getting 7-1ish on your 10.5-1 shot for boat so calling the turn 3bet is correct.

Whether or not to make a crying call on the river

As for possible hands... we can probably rule out QQ JJ AK. KQ and AQ are possible TT is possible 66 is possible, but i think knowing that is enough to make the crying call on the river. you only need to be beating him 1 out of every 9 times to make this right and thats the case.

i don't always raise this pf against 1 limper, if he's really bad then sure i'd say raise it up. i usually want 3 or 4 limpers if i'm raising this here, but i guess it's fine.

post flop is fine imo though. not much else you can change.

I think you played this alright. With 2 pair you you're not folding to the 3 bet.

I wouldn't raise this PF unless I had more limpers, in order to build a big pot, or unless I was blind stealing. If this is even an error, though, it's not a big one.

Post flop looks good, I think. After that 3-bet by UTG things are looking pretty bleak, but it's hard to fold getting 9:1 when you've got 4 outs and you can't be 100% sure you're behind.

Getting 11:1 on the river I think I call this bet from an unknown, but I don't know too much about what a 3/6 unknown is like compared to a 2/4 unknown. (Though I'll hopefully begin learning soon...)

-Brian

Hey man! I'm from Baldwin originally. I live in MA now, but I still head back to the island all the time to see family and friends.

I used to play roller hockey every damn day down at Oceanside rink over the summers. Good times. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

At the time I thought I played this OK. Limping UTG, I put villain on a Q or maybe K9s. Either way, I felt I had to pay off with my 2 pair. He shows me AK and I lose my mind.

since he might 3-bet the turn with a worse hand but with a better draw, i think calling down is alright.

I think you played it perfectly. I usually dont worry about one limper when I make a button steal play, regardless of his position.

I would play this the same way except I would not lose my mind when he shows down. Try not to do that /images/graemlins/cool.gif
