I am a member of my school's golf team, and we have planned a spring break trip to Vegas. Unfortunately, I will be 3 months shy of 21. I have access to a fake, but I fear the consequences. I have a trip planned for the day of my birthday. Should I just wait the 3 months and suffer while my friends are gambling and drinking? If I were caught with a fake, what happens? Any other insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

the search function is your friend. this gets discussed, on average, all the time.

I'd recommend not messing with a fake id. Just go in hope they don’t card you, and if they do say u forgot it and leave. A fake id, if detected can be a felony. Depending on the floor management you could have charges pressed against you, and with that comes bail, large fines and possible imprisonment. Unless your sure the Id's perfect, I wouldn’t use it!

instead of using a fake, just borrow a real ID from someone over 21 that looks sort of like you

Thanks a lot ed, I looked at the last 31 pages under B&M and it was discussed in 2 threads. If that is all the time, we have a different idea of all the time. Telling someone to use search is just a waste your time and mine. I am on 2+2 all the time so if I saw something relevant, I wouldn't ask the question. I wanted to know the consequences of being caught with one. For everyone else that has posted, thanks.

This question comes up a lot, he was right. When you asked it you looked lazy, now that you're responding like this you just look stupid.

Why has there been a flood of a[/i]ssholes into this forum lately?

I would stay home if I couldn't drink or gamble in vegas. It's the only reason I go. Either find a good fake or go to the Bahamas. Ever been to spring break in the Bahamas? It's a must see.

How good is your ID? Is it from Nevada or a nearby state or is it from far away? The further away, the better.

I have used fake ID's of varying quality at multiple casinos in Nevada, New Jersey, and Mississippi, not to cover up my age but to hide my real name/SS# while still obtaining a player's card. Multiple player's cards are like multiple Party Poker accounts: when it's bonus/cash coupon time, the more accounts the better the payoff. Not to mention when you get the boot, you discard that name/account and move to the next one. That being said, I only carry an ID once into a casino to obtain the player's card. After that, I don't carry the fake ID. Too high a price to pay, even if the risk is low of being caught.

In my personal experiences with fake ID's (mine are decent but not awesome):

Security guards have never questioned their legitimacy. A quick perusal of the birthdate and on you go.

Only one floorperson has ever questioned one of my ID's. It was a fake local state ID. He looked at it and said, "Hey, this isn't a driver's license." No, I replied, it's a state ID card, I lost my license to a repeat DUI and had to get that. Makes me look like a degenerate. No further problem.

Two women at the player's card booths have questioned an ID of mine. Both times for an expired driver's license. They gave me a card anyway. Several of my acquaintances who use multiple ID's tell me to always get a player's card from the pitboss and not these booth people. I've since switched to their advice.

I was nearly burned one time playing under fake name while taking mild heat at a BJ table. An acquaintance I hadn't seen in months strolls up and boisterously shout's "Hey Jaquen!" I tell him, my name's William, dude, and I have no idea who you are. He got the hint. Similar to the scene in the Ocean's Eleven remake.

I have also half-burned myself. Got a meal comp to one of Bellagio's restaurants. Without thinking, I signed the comp with my real first name before catching myself. Had to scratch that out and sign the alias. The hostess working the door gave me a weird look but didn't say anything.

One benefit of player's account is the free room offers. My wife gives me hell when we take a casino weekend trip. "So just who are we this weekend and what name are we staying under at the hotel so I can tell my family in case of emergency?"

Of course, playing under a false name means CTR's and W-2's are a b!tch but that's a whole 'nother story.

You're welcome, but your ignorance about the real world of blackjack/video poker/1&3-card poker and other casino advantage play is rather apparent.

Good poker is taking down the fish. Good casino AP (advantage play) is taking down the sharks. If you don't have a little James Bond in you, you won't last long.

wash the sand out of your vagina. don't be a big baby. use the fake id. you won't get busted. the only way you will is if
a) your fake is terrible
b) you do something stupid that you get busted for and then when they are investigating you they find your fake id.

IMO use the fake at the door, but if you get carded on your way out or if they come to the table you left it in the car. Don't do anything stupid, just act like you're 25 and like you've been there before. Don't order drinks.

maybe you wont be able to go to certain casinos but the majority of them wont even card you with the big number of younger people playing poker....in ac only the borgata gives a little trouble...and i mean a "little:

I was just in Vegas and as a 21 year old player who looks 17, I didn't get carded playing poker 1 time. Not at the Mirage, Bellagio, etc. I did get carded every time playing BJ and craps. So, stick to poker and relax...order drinks and have a great time.
