Specifically, I called the flop to keep customers but I felt a little lost on the turn.

I think I'd raise the flop to try for a free card. The pot's already pretty big, maybe you can get rid of a 7 or Q, improving your chances if a 9 comes. Why did you raise the turn?

Caggin, I think you're raising to much to get free cards. In this spot I don't think we'll buy outs very often, and if we do it will only be 2. That's equivalent with 8% of the pot which in this case is 1.2 SB. If you would succeed to buy 2 out 20% of the time you're buying 0.23 SB (+ 8% of the additional bets going into the pot on later streets). That's not much when investing an extra SB.

This is a case where I would like to "keep custumers".
I would ony raise if i think there's a reasonable chance I'm ahead and in that case I wouldn't take a free card on the turn anyway.
