Ok so I've been doing fantastic in 1/2, the usual stupid beats that you can forget about and keep moving foward. But today I've lost 2 boats to quads, never in my life have I seen something that bad, lots of other big hands losing to the magic river card, typical stuff.... Heres an example of the quads... I need someone to tell me what I need to do to avoid throwing my monitor into the wall.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/club.gif.
<font color="#666666">7 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, SB calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button caps</font>, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (12 SB) 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 6/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, Button folds, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, SB calls.

Turn: (10 BB) J/images/graemlins/club.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, SB calls.

River: (18 BB) 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Final Pot: 18 BB

Results below:
SB has 6d 7d (four of a kind, sixes).
Hero has Ts Tc (full house, tens full of sixes).
Outcome: SB wins 18 BB.

Nothing on the river because I was all in, after losing so much in previous hands much like this one.

Go to the dollar store, buy a lot of inexpensive stuff, then break it each time this happens.

To hell with losing the hand. This is what should make you really angry. You cost yourself a lot of EV in this hand by being all-in.

You shouldn't ever be all-in in limit ring games before capping the river.

Let's say that you get 1 bet from him on the river when he doesn't make quads. You lose 4 bets when he does. Even in this case (worst possible) you still are missing out on...

(43 - 4)/44 = .89 BB/Hand of EV

Having to go all-in costs you. Don't be the guy to go all in. It is -EV. ALWAYS keep &gt;= 12 BB in front of you.

Were you guys all-in on the river?

Edit: Yep. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I guess so, but I lost the hand previous to that, without enough time to add any more money, I'm on a 50BB downswing after a ton of retarded hands, not to happy... but I know tomorrow I'll make it all back, it's going to make me go insane this swinging.

Oh man, what a great idea! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I like the idea of shotglasses... but finding all that glass is a real pain.

If the other guy was all in, no big deal.

But if you got to the river and you didn't have 4 big bets left, that's not the right way to play, man.

You want to always keep enough on the table that you can see any bet by any one at any street (12BB on party).

I know how you feel bro... I'm going through the same right now...

That being said, don't count on making it back tomorrow. Count on it in a few months or whatever, depending on how much you play (and how well... this wasn't exactly a hard hand to play).

Good luck, though.
