no reads. i'll admit i'm horrible at watching the table. i'm often doing other things. focus is something i really need to work on. that aside, let's play cards. went for a semi-steal. wouldn't mind playing a flop with this hand with position but would prefer not to. ok. i flopped top pair. big enough flop bet? turn card is scary. not only is it an overcard, but board is very co-ordinated now. check. hmmm. what to make of this river. does he have an ace? i get to thinking. he most likely raises AK or AQ preflop. maybe not AJ. but if he has AJ he bets out on the flop. he's not calling my flop bet with Ax. maybe he has A5. maybe AT. avg stack at this point is 2500. i can't think of a hand with an A that he is very likely to have over all the other possibilities. i also don't think he has a set, 2 pair, or a King because he would probably be scared of the straight and check. he's trying to represent the ace, but i can't see him having it. i call. good thinking?

i dont like the small flop bet, i'd bet the pot at least. You probably want to take that pot down right there.

"he's not calling my flop bet with Ax"

You don't say what the buy-in is but I see players on Stars at lower buy-ins limping and then calling a raise with weak Aces.
