t4745. Was up to t7700 or so, but my JJ ran into AA. He semi-slowplayed them, as we both called a short-stack all-in player who raised to t670.

Be careful out there. Slowplayed aces knocked me out of the Million yesterday.

was looking pretty bad at 8 minutes b4 the break. But stealing blinds 3 times over the last two orbits with 10BB pushes set the table up for my 11BB AA push. Got called by 77 and 99 to nearly triple /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tried to steal and orbit later with 44 from the CO and got flatcalled by the button. But I fired out a 1/2 pot on the flop and he folded.

Let's see what happens now.

But I've come to learn it's the kind that wins tournaments. I didn't like my BB hand at all, but when the raiser left me nearly 3 to 1 odds on my pf call (and he couldn't bust me if I hit my flop and he was on an overpair) I figured I'd try to be an Accumulator...

Then KK came and I tripled against JJ and AKs.

Was up to T100,000 at one point after I made a huge draw against a LAG - probably 20 hands later I make a critical error (called like 27k reraise with 88 - he had qq) and back down to 50, then called a raise once with AQ, flopped nothing, tried to steal when he checked and he checkraised me all in, and i'm forced to fold.

Was at 40k at the break, just right now I moved in against a minraiser after I called on the flop on my BB with 89 suited - flop 659 two hearts (not my suit), moved in for 30k and he called and missed with his heart draw and one overcard.

I'll try not to make any more critical errors. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Called an all-in from the chip leader (UTG) who is bullying people around from the BB with 66 for 33k more. Hoped it would be a coinflip but he had 88, and I didn't improve. Have regrets calling, probably should have mucked it.

I played terrible toward the end of the tournament. Hopefully I can keep my concentration and focus longer, I am not used to these 6-7 hour sessions and I tend to not think out my decisions toward the end when it really counts.

I tend to not call all-in with low pairs unless I'm really desperate. Even if he is bluffing, you're only in good shape if he's got a lower pair or something like A3. You're likely at best a small favorite and often a big dog.

Now a push with a low pair is not nearly as bad--you hope you don't get called, but if you do, you might win the hand.

I regret my last play, too. Down to 40K with 3K/6K blinds, I get AKs in UTG+2. I push, and everyone folds. I don't regret that play. Next hand, I get AJo. I push my 49K UTG+1, and big stack CO cuts me down with KK.

At 49K, I had time to wait for a better hand and a better position. Plus, I went out at 52, and the next pay level (hey to ThrillFactor) paid $220 more.

I saw your final hand with 77, but I don't think that's the hand you're talking about... You were already down pretty low (12K? 17K?) at that point.

See ya at the final table next time!

(won't actually be playing next week, though, as I'll be out of the country)

Renixe
03-07-2005, 01:39 AM
Yep, all in all in think it was a pretty bad call. Even though I would be down to ~5xBB after paying the SB after folding, I probably really could have waited for a better spot than that.

I felt pretty bad after I got knocked out. At one point I was, I think, 2nd in chips when the blinds were 1500/3000 and I had 100k in chips with 100 remaining, and I just blew it. /images/graemlins/frown.gif Oh well. Every tournament's a learning experience, and I certainly learned from this one.
