I had a pocket pair of 4s and I folded preflop, because someone raised. What comes on the flop? 4. How about the turn? Another 4. What does this guy do? He went all in...too bad I wasn't still around. I learned my lesson. Don't flop pocket pairs unless it's a super huge raise. /images/graemlins/frown.gif
I was playing too conservatively. After that I loosened up and won some $$$.

I bet if you never folded you could catch some really good hands like two pair or trips.

My biggest loses have been with pocket pairs. But, so have some of my biggest winnings. I have a love/hate relationship with them. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Werent you using a pattern mapper?
I don't see the part of the story where you flopped quads. Is that in the sequel maybe?

The typical Party 25 nl player lives by this advice.

My philosophy on low pocket pairs is to play them, but if I don't hit a set on the flop I usually fold unless there's small bets or checks all around then I just stick around. I wouldn't chase a set if there were serious bets, but I'm sure many would.

This post would be better suited to the plebes at TPF (www.thepokerforum.com/). When I found 2+2 6 months ago, it was awesome and posts had informative background to them. Now....HEE HAW
