This is a summary of the SSNLH blind and buy-in structures I like to play, either live or on line. I have the hardest time succeeding at the NL $40 $1/$1 game. I play the same way regardless of the blinds at these games. At PP NL $25, for example, I have a V$PIP of 19%, PFR 7%, and TAF of 2.5. Is there something about the NL $40 $1/$1 game that I should adjust in my playing style? Or, is it most likely something else (i.e. the people playing that game vesus the other games).

Theoretically, should all of these games at these levels be played pretty much the same?

Max-Buy-In--Small--Small-Blind/----Big-----Big-Blind/----Big-Bet---Big-Bet/
NLHE-Only---Blind---Max-Buy-In----Blind---Max-Buy-In--(4x-BB)---Max-Buy-In
25----------$0.10---0.40%---------$0.25---1.00%-------$1.00-----4.00%
40----------$1.00---2.50%---------$1.00---2.50%-------$4.00-----10.00%
100---------$1.00---1.00%---------$2.00---2.00%-------$8.00-----8.00%
200---------$2.00---1.00%---------$3.00---1.50%-------$12.00----6.00%
200---------$2.00---1.00%---------$4.00---2.00%-------$16.00----8.00%

Thanks.

quickly:

Deeper stacks mean:

Play hands with higher implied odds/likely to be strong later in the deal with position (small PP's, SC's)
Base decisions to play or not heavily on position
Stealing the blinds is less important
"mixing it up"/unpredictability is more important
possibly dominated hands are to be avoided
be less incined to gamble (play all streets for max overlay if possible)

Shallower stacks mean:
position is less important
favor hands likely to be strong early in the deal (AQ, JJ)
stealing the blinds is more important
"mixing it up" really goes way down in value
you must play more hands in general as the blinds will eat you if you don't
be more inclined to gamble (be agressive early in deal with good draws and made hands)

"be less incined to gamble (play all streets for max overlay if possible"

What does this mean?
