For all who might not know, Oceans Eleven Cardroom/Casino in Oceanside, CA just started offering No Limit Omaha. IT is played Hi only, with a 40 dollar max buy in, and 2 one dollar blinds. It just started 2 nights ago I guess, and they only had 1 table going, but the action was pretty good. Lots of loose action. Anyways, just thought I would let you all know about it. Maybe take the drive down from Commerce or Hollywood Park and check it out.

Why not just flip a coin every hand? $40/max buyin $2 blinds LOL. My strategy for it. Go all in pre flop then reload

I haven't played the Omaha yet, but the $40 NL Hold-Em is a very playable game. Also very beatable. I would think the typical player would suck so bad at Omaha that this might be a worth while game too.

Flop a set and push? A flush and straight draw has the advantage over a set all day long.

I apologize if that joke went way over your head.

$40 max buy in? That is totally stupid.

Living in LA...

Pot Limit Omaha spread at Oceans Eleven = definitely worth the drive
40max buyin = definitely not worth the drive

Too bad.

I agree about the low buy in, but I still thought I should let folks know about the game. Like I had said, they just started it, and they have lots of $40 NL Hold Em tables, so they probably started it low to see if anyone plays it. Last night the Floor Manager was sayin that they may make it a $100 buy in game with 2 and 5 dollar blinds. So that would be better.

If you want to stay closer to L.A., they've been offering NLO at Hawaiian Gardens for several months now. I think it alternates between Hi-only and O/8. It was $100 buy in when I played there last fall. I haven't been back there lately, so I'm not sure of the current status. Still, it was a good game when I played it (Hi-only on that day. Yes, I got all in with top set. Against bottom 2-pair. /images/graemlins/smile.gif )
