Looks an awful lot like JJ since you said he is ok...is he bad enough to "slowplay" aces after the flop?

ummm, he had 19/5ish stats, and is neeeehaawww or whatever, from kungfu's post. thats all i really know about him.

hmmm 19/5 doesn't seem like a tricky player/player that gets out of line also doesn't seem like someone who would commit their stack with an overpair or AJ...I'd be worried.

I think this is AA/KK more often then it's JJ. The tightish player probably put you on a pair of jacks+flush draw/set and the bad player on a flush draw or some random junk. So he called with the intention of making a decision on a non-diamond turn. Since you checked on the turn, the tight player figured that you didn't have the set and that has hand was good against whatever the bad player.

Of course this is the way a set Jacks would probably play it too. But I don't think I lay it down, unless you are fairly certain that he only shoves it in with the nuts.

im looking more for thoughts on whether the flop and turn play plays maximize my EV.

and btw, no chance as I folding a set here w that action getting over 2.5-1, so id rather not spend too much more time on that.

Your flop and turn play is pretty standard. Flatcalling is a far superior play to a reraise on flop. A reraise defines your hand a little too well and you won't get paid off unless someone has a set of jacks.

Flatcalling and checking the turn was perfect. Because both of the other guys will think you missed, and the bad player will now take a second stab at the pot with whatever he has and the tight player if he indeed has AA or KK will think his hand is good. I think you extracted the maximum you could possbily get from when you called preflop.

i like your line, you get the aggressor to do your betting for you while keeping your hand on the dl.
